“Artistic experience brings together both spiritual and physical connection, for it has the power to integrate and reveal the wholeness of things” (Daisaku Ikeda).

This is the only way human life can truly transcend. By this means of understanding, we attempted to bring together both dimensions into the constructed environment.

Enhancing an inner sense of self through cultural, artistic and educational experience by the emphasis of the vertical. Taking this idea as the starting point for the design process we placed a vertical plate as a unifying element for the two main buildings of the Cultural Center: the library and the museum.

Relying on this essential element which was located on the main entrance, our approach was to enhance the vertical spatial dimension attempting to replay this approach throughout the whole complex not only by compression and expansion of space but also through the manipulation of temperature, light, wind and sound creating different atmospheres
