We are an architectural and urban lab OUT OF THE BOX based in London and San Francisco founded in 2013. Our key principle is to develop human & green friendly spaces with social understanding based on strong foundation of ethics

Born in Mexico City, he studied architecture in the Universidad Iberoamericana until an episode of insecurity and threatens against his life made him to move unexpectedly to San Francisco, where continued his studies in the University of SF.

During an amazing journey of learning and life lessons in Silicon Valley, his aspirations to conclude his studies were stopped when the economic situation failed and where pushed to stop his studies and back to Mexico City.
During his return, he collaborated with his parents to rebuild the family business of engineering and construction.

During a brief period in Mexico, called by him “the exile”, he could save money, reinvent his own ideas, earn valuable experience, and make strong connections which lead him to start exploring, experimenting and remaking his dream to design and develop his own vision. His curiosity, research, and influences coming from old university professors, helped him to walk to a new phase of his life called “the foundation”. Then, he moved to Europe and founded SYRUP in 2015, which he defines a space not only to design shapes and elements, but also a lab to experiment with full freedom, rethink, research and redesign “OUT OF THE BOX” in order to transform our design, in a powerful tool of change for individuals, communities and environment, influenced under a strong social vision, and integrated by a experienced team of professionals from various key areas.

Multidisciplinary team
Psychology is intrinsically related to the behavior of the human being and to the stages of well-being and happiness of an individual. That is why each project is studied in detail based on the application of different perspectives of psychology to create spaces that empower the development of the person and generate a comfortable site for the activity to be carried out. In this way, we can focus our architecture on the well-being of the human being, including in our plan its emotions, senses and moods that each space can generate.
We always create a solid and well-analyzed plan based on a team specialized in environmental issues that allows us to design buildings that are friendly to the environment and that save significant resources. In conjunction with the urban framework, we create strategies that allow the creation of sustainable green spaces and encourage the use of renewable energies and ecological transport. At the same time, and with a proactive attitude, our laboratory studies, develops and proposes sustainable urban solutions. These projects are presented to the local authorities, as a dynamic and active way of promoting actions in favor of turning our cities into environmentally friendly places and improving the quality of life of the people.
We believe in the “Happy City”, which means that each project is designed with the purpose of contributing a tangible benefit to the city or community where it will be built. Our team analyzes the urban problems linked to the project, studies ideas to improve the connection between our space and the city, and generates integral strategies to improve mobility, quality of life, and efficiency of resources for users. In this way, we turn architecture into a transformative tool within the urban context.
We feel a deep respect for the social aspect that surrounds a project, that is why, as part of our design process, we include a comprehensive plan that covers hours of research to the analysis of culture, traditions, people, history, geography, and the local economy of each project that we develop. As part of this vision, we create spaces that integrate the cultural richness of a site, raise the history and traditions, and integrate harmoniously with the place, creating a solid identity for both the project and the community. In this way we transform architectural elements into answers and solutions to local and regional social problems, thus we take advantage of architecture as an intelligent tool to generate bridges with communities and their people
